| With the arrival of spring and the rebirth of the natural green, the life that God has given to our ministry takes on new force and the support of our brothers, both Hispanic and North American, is marvelously manifested. But what motivates us most is the support that God has given to the labor we have undertaken. In the church visits, in talking with families, and in times of preaching, we have been able to see the marvelous and enabling hand of God moving powerfully. In each of the areas selected to begin work, we have received manifestations of the blessing of God. | ![]() Rev. Carranza with Rev. Richard and Ronda Sickels |
| ||||||||||||

We have had the blessing of receiving for our North American brothers the churches of Osseo, Willmar, Brainerd, and Bachus. And in each one of those the brothers have manifested love. They have committed to support the ministry with speaking of it, with their love, and with economic support. It was an especially gratifying blessing to participate in a service of the Cambodian church in Crystal. That was our first opportunity to fellowship with brothers of another culture not American and God blessed us because among our brothers from the Orient we sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit and the love of our brothers expressed in support of our ministry, Later we encountered a sister who speaks Spanish and who offered her help. We also spent a beautiful time in the presence of God with our brothers of the church El Shaddai. This Spanish church is pastored by brother Arsenio Arias. This loving church meets in the building of St. Paul First Church of the Nazarene. |

In the Brooklyn Center church, we were able to lead two services of preaching in Spanish. And God has given us knowledge of his benediction responding to each one of the requests that we have presented to him. We prayed for a person imprisoned in El Salvador, and the second day he was set free. We prayed for the health of the mother of sister Briseida Gurrola, and God has given her health. We prayed for a job for brother Oscar López, and the Savior heard; we prayed that God would take away pain from the foot of sister Leonor Echavarría, and after this she left to direct parking around the building without experiencing any more pain. To God be the glory. |

We give to God our total vision of our ministry for Minnesota. During the three months of winter, we have completed the goals of becoming acclimated, locating, opening plans of action and beginning to know people. Now we are visiting Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis, and St. Paul as areas of work. Please pray also for Willmar, the city in which sister Patricia López has started preparing to begin a Bible study group. It is our goal in this first year of work to have three areas of ministerial work with the goal of two formal church works the next year. |

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up". Galatians 6:9
This is one of the great promises in God's Word that we have embraced in Otsego. Church planting is a tremendous amount of Work. Our Team works very hard setting up and tearing down weekly. We have many people who are sacrificing their time, talents and treasures for the kingdom of God. Recently we have seen the rewards of our labor as God is writing new stories in peoples lives
During a recent 101 class the gospel was presented to those attending. Phyl and Craig gave their lives to Christ and they shared with the rest of the group how our Church has impacted their lives.
A young couple, Shawn & Angie, approached pastor Jon at our Grand Opening Service and asked if he did Pre- marital counselling. In the last session, one week before they stood before God and made their vows to each other, Pastor Jon was able to present the gospel to them. With tears in their eyes they both prayed and gave their lives to Christ.
A young couple, Don & Amy, by invitation of one of our launch team members came to our Grand Opening service. They help out weekly. Don in our Childrens Ministry and Amy in the nursery. Amy gave birth to their first child (Anna Marie) on October 29th. As Don was talking to Pastor Jon he said in effect How can I raise our daughter in a Christ-centered home when I Haven't taken that step to accept Christ in my life. On the eve of the birth of his daughter Don prayed and gave his life to Christ.
We thank God for the changed lives and the new stories that He is writing in peoples lives.
Please Keep us in your Prayers as we seek to reach the unchurched for Christ.

Minneapolis Somali Nazarene Fellowship
Pastor Badeh Dualeh now leads the Somali Nazarene Fellowship. His e-mail address is bade@mnnazarene.org
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.'" (Romans 10:13-15)
It is estimated that over fifty thousand Somalis live in the Twin Cities alone. Most of those Somalis came to the Twin Cities in the last five to six years to escape from their civil war-ridden country in the Horn of Africa. Somalis are generally 99.9% Muslim. Churches in the States have been slow to minister to these nomadic Somali immigrants.
Because Islamic Somalia has always closed it doors to traditional missionaries, reaching the Somalis back home with the Good News has been a challenge to missionaries for over a century. Yet the Lord uses less conventional means to reach these lost Muslims, such as Christian short wave radios beamed from outside the country. There was never an established church in Somalia in recorded history until a few years ago, when the Nazarene Church in the Horn of Africa rewrote the history of the Somali ministry in the Horn.
The Minnesota District of the Church of the Nazarene recently started working with the Somalis. Somalis here are now coming to the Lord slowly but steadily. The future looks brighter than ever before. Praise belongs to our Lord. The District is using Somali evangelists to reach their own people, a strategy that is bearing fruit. The vision of the District is planting Somali-speaking house churches among Somali communities in Minnesota. The Twin Cities, specially Minneapolis, is given a high priority now because that is where most Somalis in the state congregate. We are working hard to disciple the believers and to win more souls to the Lord. It is our vision that when these Somali believers return to their home country that they will take the Gospel with them and witness to their own people in Somalia.
We covet your prayers.
Brooklyn Center
Please pray for God's direction in response to proposals that we start a new black church plant in the Brooklyn Center area.
